Bio: Zachary Lloyd (he/him) is a Teaching Consultant in Florida State University’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching, where he helps graduate students and faculty design effective learning experiences. Earning his PhD in Music Theory from FSU in 2024, Zachary’s research interests include issues of race, gender, and sexuality in American musical theater, opera, and American concert music, as well as music theory pedagogy. His essay on the narrative implications of the Lydian mode in Blue (2019) appears in Intégral. Within SMT, he co-founded the Musical Theater Interest Group, and serves as a member of the Committee on LGBTQ+ Issues, and as a production assistant for SMT-Pod.

Bio: John Combs is a music theorist and pianist based in Tallahassee, FL. While his research interests center around ideas of reprise and motive and musical theater, he has also accompanied for and directed several shows, including: The Wizard of Oz, Grease, High School Musical, Chicago, Annie Get your Gun, Oliver!, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Crazy for You, Little Shop of Horrors, and Narnia: The Musical. He holds a Master of Music in music theory from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a PhD in music theory from Florida State University.
