Bio: Joon Park is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas. Joon’s research interests include jazz analysis, East Asian music and music theories, and the music of Arnold Schoenberg. His most recent article from Music Theory Online, “‘At One End of the Endless Universe’: Akira Nishimura’s Interview with Isang Yun” is a translation of the interview between the two composers that explores the social, cultural, and philosophical contexts for Yun’s compositional decisions.
